Weston Straka

My reason for hope is that I know and believe that God is good, and there is nothing in all of creation outside of His control.
Over the last 10 years, my story has included going through divorce, being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, joblessness, and learning that I am infertile. In each of these chapters, I’ve wondered why God would allow these struggles and what it was that He was doing. And yet, in each of these chapters, God has been incredibly faithful to provide and to be present.
As the Lord has continued to pursue me, He has convicted me with the words from Ephesians 5:20 which calls us to give thanks FOR every circumstance. He has also given balm with the words from Romans 8:37-39 that remind us that nothing in all of creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
I know that the only reason we can have hope and that we can give thanks for every circumstance is because we know we have a God who is faithful to be with us, faithful to provide, and is sovereign over everything. As the Holy Spirit has continued to plant this belief deeper into my heart, I know that I can have confidence because God is in control. I know in every circumstance, God is present with me.
What could I possibly fear? Why would I ever have anxiety? I know the Lord is good and reigns and rules over everything, therefore, I will put my hope in Him!
