My reason for hope is because of the Christian community that God gifts us with and how He calls us to be in community with other believers.
Three years ago, I was just moving to Atlanta. I was leaving behind my closest friends and a great church, and was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to replicate the deep relationships with the community of believers I had created.
I started to attend Westside after I moved and it didn’t immediately feel like home to me. There were some lonely times in the beginning, but I was encouraged to start getting involved with different ministry groups. I began to see how God worked through people and moments to reiterate to me that He is steadfast in His plans for us and that the Holy Spirit works in believers everywhere. Reflecting on the last few years, God has blessed me with wonderful people in my life at Westside that have challenged me and helped me grow in my faith.
Hebrews 10:23-25 says “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
