Luke's explanation of why they were divided then raises a thorny theological issue, and Paul and his companions leave town with a symbolic gesture of judgment against it. Yeesh! On closer examination, however, each troubling point proves surprisingly consistent with the first part of Paul's sermon about Jesus and the grace and freedom he brings to those who
